Gun Season Scare

So I am going to tell a little story about an incident that happened to me while out deer hunting.  My dad has a farm in Southwest Missouri that consists of around 750 acres.  Now mind you, I am not the worlds best hunter so I have to rely somewhat on pointers from my dad on where to sit when it comes to finding or getting deer to show up.  So anyway we go out in the field and set up a blind that I am going to sit in that evening, we set it up at the back of his property that meets up with a neighbors property.  My dad says this should be a good spot and that I should see some deer.  So that evening I go out to sit in this blind and he is right I saw a couple of deer, but none were big enough bucks that made me really want to shoot.  So a little more time goes by and I have my gun in had using the scope to look out across the field watching for deer.  As I am scanning the area with my scope I come across a glimpse of orange about 300 yards away.  I put my gun down and grabbed my binocculars to get a better look.  Crap!! To my amazement I see a guy sitting by a tree and he just so happens to be pointing his gun right at me.  Well it seemed to be pointing right at me.  It turns out that there was a deer walking right in between us.  Well that sure didn't make me want to stay were I was since I was pretty sure that he was going to shoot.  So I bailed out of the blind and ran to safety and just as I jumped out and started running I heard a couple of shots.  Now what are the chances of that happening, you have two guys in the middle of so many acres and it just so happens that at that given point and time a deer walks right in between the two.  I felt pretty lucky that I didn't get a bullet in my back side.

Biology

Biology!!  Biology is probably the worst subject for me.  It is a subjuect that I can sit and read chapter after chapter and retain not a single word of it.  I am taking Biology with an emphasis in environmental health this semester and I am doing horrible.  I am simply hoping that I can make it through and never have to take it again.

2,000 Fetuses Found

2,000 fetuses have been found at a Buddhist Temple in Thailand.  Thailand has strict laws against abortions and apparently these fetuses are from illegal abortions.  The illegal abortion clinic hired guys at the temple to take the fetuses and cremate them.

Wow, everyday the world gets just a little bit sicker.  With every article I read I think that surely the next cannot be worse.  Well guess what, this one is probably the most disgusting one that I have read for a while.  What the hell is wrong with people?  I guess their ability to choose right from wrong is non existent.

California Warden Ignores DA, Releases Rapist Early

Warden Ignores DA

A California prison warden released a rapist after only serving half of his 49 year sentence.  This guy was in prison for raping two very young girls in the early eighties.  His victims were 7 and 8 year old girls and occurred in separated incidences.  The DA wanted the warden to hold off releasing him so that they could get a order for him to not be released.

I don't understand why they even consider probation for people like this.  These types of people are the worst of the worst and should get the death penalty.  Being a father with daughters I can honestly say that if something like this ever happened to one of my girls the person responsible wouldn't face a judge.

Okay so here is my dilemma.  I am really considering buying a new truck in the near future.  I am however kind of having a bit of what I would consider a moral dilemma.  See I have always been a huge GM fan and have always driven GM trucks.  I am disappointed with GM and how they have failed to make it on their own.  I know that they are not the only ones that borrowed money from the government but they are the ones that I supported for years.  Anyway I think that I am going to switch to Ford since they have managed to make it on their own.  I just can't support OBAMA.

Springfield, Ohio, a power company was demolishing a unused 275' smoke stack when it fell the wrong way.  As the explosives detonated the 275' tower fell the opposite way that was planned and it landed on a building as well as some power lines.  The result was about 4,000 customers were without power for a few hours.

This is pretty crazy to watch.  I guess I can understand how an accident like this could happen but you would think that with this explosive company doing this type of thing everyday that this type of accident could be avoided.

The Carnival cruise lines ship Splendor is on is last leg of a horrific cruise.  The ship suffered and engine room fire and lost all power days ago 200 miles off the coast of Mexico.  Food was brought in by the coast guard and tug boats came to tow it to San Diego.  As of this morning the ship was within eight miles of San Diego.

I couldn't imagine being stuck on a powerless ship with 4,500 strangers 200 miles off the coast of Mexico without cold drinks.  Wow.  I know that Carnival is giving refunds and also offering a free cruise to all of the passengers on board, but I am not sure that after experiencing something like this that I would what to go again.

The 5th season

So I am wondering why they never put the fifth season in the books?  You all know the one that I am talking about, it's the one that starts in late August when school starts and ends sometime around early to mid January.  It's the bug season, yes the bug season when every kid had a constant stream of green running from their noses and a cough that seems to sneak up on them so quickly that they never have time to cover it.  My youngest just started Kindergarten this year and already this bugs have hit.  Just this week, she missed the whole week of school with a fever and gallons of snot that just wouldn't go away.  We took her to the doctor and after a $60 visit the best they could tell us was, well is must be viral because nothing is testing positive.  Then we say, well what do we do then?  The doc says Motrin and Tylenol with rest should do it.  Well it's almost been and week and whatever this poor little girl got, she is still battling it.  This time of year stinks.  Hope everyone else has better luck with the bug season.

Hurricane Thomas Hits Haiti

Hurricane Thomas made hit Haiti Thursday causing major flooding.  At least one person has died from the flooding after trying to cross a flooded area in his car.  Haiti was just hit by a major earthquake in January that was catastrophic to the country.

How much can one country take?  Man, this is serious and I feel horrible for the people enduring all of these tragedies.  I couldn't imagine being in this situation and even worse having my children in a situation like this.  My heart goes out to these people and I will keep them in my prayers.

2 nabbed in Halloween Shooting

Two arrested in Halloween shooting

Two suspects are now in custody after being arrested in connection with a shooting on Halloween in Compton.  The victim was a five year old little boy who was in his grandfathers back yard showing off his new spiderman costume.  Witnesses say that two men walked by in an alley behind the house and then came back and fired four shots into the back yard striking the boy in the back of the head, and also hitting the boys uncle and grandfather.

ANIMALS!!!!!!!  I don't care what kind of life these, I wouldn't even call them people, animals have so called lived or what kind of burdens or hard times they have dealt with in their lives.  This is absolutely a disgrace.  What kills me is that we have our military spread out around the world fighting for other peoples rights and shit like this is happening right here at home.  Where the hell is Obama on this one?  You mean to tell me that they can hang Saddam and change an entire country around, but the United States of America can seem to control gang violence?  Maybe it's time for these money hungry politicians to worry about the free country that they live in and less about how much money they can get.
