Unemployment
Yes, I know that this is a hot topic all throughout the United States and well, it has been all to real for me. See, I got laid off back in March of 10 and you guessed it I have had a hard time finding suitable employment. Well the wait is over "Thank God" I have now found myself a new and somewhat seemingly promising position with a local auto dealership. Yippee!! That's right I am pretty excited about this opportunity. The hours seem good, there's benefits, holiday pay, vacation, and I get to visit with people all day long about cars and trucks. If there were a couple Harley's in the showroom a keg in the corner and a banner out front that read "The Heman woman haters club" I would never leave.

Ex-deputy asessed nine years for murder plot
Ex-deputy-assessed-nine-years-for-murder-plot
A jasper county ex-deputy will be doing nine years in prison for conspiring to kill a girlfriend and mother of his child. Simmons, 29, of Joplin, was convicted of conspiracy to commit second-degree murder at a three-day trial in December. It took the jury about 30 minutes to return with the sentencing recommendation the judge followed on Friday. The trial featured a recording of a conversation between Simmons and his ex-wife, Misty Simmons, on Oct. 30, 2008, in a cemetery at Carterville during which the couple discussed the murder of Kimberlee LeClaire. Simmons had been fired as a Jasper County deputy a month before for unstated reasons. He had left his wife for LeClaire and had a child with her. The prosecution said at the trial that Simmons began having second thoughts and wanted to get back together with his ex while keeping custody of the child he had with LeClaire. This is when the murder idea came into play. The trouble was, his ex was involved romantically with another sheriff’s deputy at the time, had reported his loose talk about killing his baby momma to investigators in the Sheriff’s Department, and their conversation during the late-night in the cemetery was being recorded without his knowledge.
Umm, hey buddy did you think that since she was your ex that maybe you now had something that wasn't there before? What a dipsh**! Now I don't condone this type of behavior, but what the hell is wrong with people. Telling your ex that your thinking about killing the person you left her for? Evidently this guy didn't get enough sh** the first time with this gal. I bet he doesn't go running after her again nine years from now. Wow!

Judge orders man to stand trial in indentity case
Judge orders man to stand trial in identity case
The husband of a Joplin woman that was sent to prison this week for a baby for sale scam waved his right to a preliminary hearing on trafficking in stolen identities. Wilks G. Sims Jr., 55, waived his hearing in Jasper County Court and was ordered to stay in jail until trial by Associate Judge Richard Copeland. The judge set March 7 for his initial appearance in a trial division court. Joplin police reportedly found various forms of identification for at least 81 people when they searched the home of Sims and his wife, Alice H. Sims, 29, at 1921 S. Wall Ave., after her arrest Dec. 8.
Documents seized contained people’s names, dates of birth, Social Security numbers and checking account numbers. Seized utility bills also showed that they had arranged for electrical, water and gas services to their home, and had started cell phone accounts in other people’s names.
His wife was sentenced Monday to four years in prison after pleading guilty to felony stealing by deceit. Her conviction stems from a down payment on a baby she accepted from two undercover police officers in the parking lot of a McDonald’s restaurant in Joplin. She claimed to be pregnant and had advertised the unborn baby for sale on Craigslist.
Really?!! What the heck is wrong with people? Now I don't know about you, but I am kind of thinking the prison is the right place for these people. What kind of person, whether they are really having a baby or not, puts an ad on Craigslist stating that they have a baby for sale? It sounds like these two were a match made in the county jail.

Charge dropped due to absence of victim
Charge dropped due to absence of the victim
Back in November of 2009, a charge of second-degree domestic assault against Quincy E. Richards, 22, at a hearing in Jasper County Circuit Court. The assault charge that has been pending for over a year was dropped on Wednesday when Jasper County prosecutor’s office was unable to get the alleged victim to show up to testify at a preliminary hearing. Richards was accused of choking the victim until she lost consciousness. Richard plead innocent to the charges and the preliminary hearing has been rescheduled multiple times due the alleged victim not showing up.
First of all if someone is going to file charges, why in the hell would they not show up to court? Now I am not saying that this guy is innocent but by her not showing up to court multiple times, sure doesn't make sense if he is guilty of the crime.
On another note no matter whether her story is true or his story is true, it definitely sounds like there were some serious issues in tat relationship.

Really?
Michael Jackson's mother sues AEG.
I know that this is old news, but come on!
Michael Jackson's mother Katherine is suing AEG, the company that Michael had a contract with for his next tour. Katherine is suing AEG over negligence, stating that Michael's contract with AEG stated that they would take care of his health needs. Katherine has stated that AEG didn't do their part by hiring a doctor that they had not done a background check on. She is also suing them over the fact that Michael's son watched his father die at the hands of Dr. Murray.
I don't know about anyone else, but I am getting a little tired of hearing all of this stuff. Michael Jackson chose his lifestyle. Nobody forced him to get to a point in his life where he needed to be medicated on a constant basis just to get through his day. Now I am not trying to be heartless in this situation, I do think that is a sad way of life for his children. However, I am not really sure what they would have thought later on in life, had Michael lived. All I am trying to say is, I don't know why anyone would want to be famous, all they do is get rich fast, live fast, party hard, and die young.

Woman in Huntsville Alabama almost raped by intruder.
Woman in Huntsville Alabama almost rapd by intruder.
I found this video on youtube.com. A women in Huntsville Alabama was almost rape by an intruder, when he climbed through her bedroom window and climbed in bed with her. She screamed and her brother came to her rescue.
I couldn't believe that this was actually aired on tv. This is something that belongs on Americas Funniest Home Videos. My initial reaction to this interview was almost in disbelief.
On a serious note, this story could have not ended so funny, had this intruder actually raped this women.
Just like the video says, you need to hide your kids, your wife, and your husbands to, because they are raping err-body out here.

Hospital gunman shoots mother then himself
Hospital gunman shoots mother than himself
Today, a man upset over his mothers medical condition, shot and wounded a doctor before shooting his mother and then himself. This all occurred in Baltimore at Johns Hopkins Hospital. The shooter Mr. Davis, was at the hospital checking on his mother and asking questions about her condition. Evidently he got some information that he didn't agree with so he pulled out a gun and shot the doctor then went to his mothers room and shot her then himself.
I wonder why they do not have metal detectors at hospitals?
I am not sure what the mothers condition was, but I am pretty sure that killing her wasn't the best treatment that she could have gotten.
This article was pretty disturbing in the sense that a person would shoot and try to kill a doctor that is trying to treat this persons parent. It is fortunate that the doctor did not suffer a fatal gunshot wound and he will survive. I would imagine that he, along with many other hospital staff will probably require some psychiatric help following this event.

Snowmagedon!
I am not linking anything to this post. I just want to rant a little about this beautiful weather that we have been so blessed with this past week. OK, well that is a little sarcasm there. What the heck happened to global warming? Now if this type of weather keeps up my kids will be in school until July and the summer will be shot to sh#t.. Oh well I guess there isn't much that can be done about it so I guess we will just have to suck it up and ice our muscles from all of the shoveling. Thanks for reading my thoughts and I hope you have a better time with the white stuff than me.
Missouri plowing first estimate reaches $5.5 million.
Missouri plowing first estimate reaches $5.5 million.
MoDot has said that the first estimate for plowing Missouri highways after the icy blizzard that has halted nearly the entire state is roughly $5.5 million. They have also said that they will continue to plow and salt the roads even if they have to use all of their $42 million budget. Modot is here to make the roads as safe as possible and if the budget is used up entirely they will cut back on spring and summer projects.
I never knew the real numbers involved with MoDot and I will have to honestly say that I really figured that it would cost more to take care of the highways in Missouri. Then again there are some pretty bad roads in the state. I guess now that I know what their budget is I can understand why some of the roads are in the condition their in. I think maybe it's time to find some more money to budget in for the highway departments throughout the state.

Three Carthage residents die on Oklahoma Turnpike.
There were eight people in a Chevrolet Avalanche heading to work at a mushroom plant in Miami Oklahoma. The eight were heading west on the Oklahoma Turnpike when the driver lost control of the vehicle and then plummeted 60 feet over a bridge into Spring river. The driver, and front passenger both trapped in the vehicle died of hypothermia and a third passenger died later at local hospital due to complications from injuries sustained during the accident as well as from hypothermia. The other six were also transported to area hospitals where they remain in serious condition.
This is tragic, my heart goes out to all of the families so tragically affected by this. These guys were simply trying to make it to work to provide for theirs families when some of their lives were cut short. I understand what they were thinking by risking their own lives to help provide for loved ones as I myself have a family to support. However sometimes in life you have to compare the risk taken to the reward received.
