Three Carthage residents die on Oklahoma Turnpike.
There were eight people in a Chevrolet Avalanche heading to work at a mushroom plant in Miami Oklahoma. The eight were heading west on the Oklahoma Turnpike when the driver lost control of the vehicle and then plummeted 60 feet over a bridge into Spring river. The driver, and front passenger both trapped in the vehicle died of hypothermia and a third passenger died later at local hospital due to complications from injuries sustained during the accident as well as from hypothermia. The other six were also transported to area hospitals where they remain in serious condition.
This is tragic, my heart goes out to all of the families so tragically affected by this. These guys were simply trying to make it to work to provide for theirs families when some of their lives were cut short. I understand what they were thinking by risking their own lives to help provide for loved ones as I myself have a family to support. However sometimes in life you have to compare the risk taken to the reward received.
