English 101

My experience with English 101 as a distant student.  Well where do I start?  I guess I will start at the beginning when I heard that we were going to be keeping a blog.  What?  I had know clue as to what or how I was going to do this.  I had never done such a thing before.  Needless to say after going through some of the instructions and looking around at some of the other blogs it didn't seem as if it were going to be that bad.  The first week I messed up only writing one blog instead of three, I guess I misread the instructions.  The next few weeks were a bit of a struggle getting into my stride.  Then once I hit my stride it became a lot easier.  Now I am not saying that this is something that I am going to keep up, because truth be known I do not especially find this to be enjoyable.  However I seem to have made it through and yes it was a good learning experience.  The End...

Rolaids recalls 13 million packages

http://money.cnn.com/2010/12/09/news/companies/rolaid_recall/index.htm

Johnson & Johnson's McNeil division announced a recall Thursday of more than 13 million packages of various Rolaids following  complaints of foreign materials, including metal and wood particles. This is following recalls not to far in the past for this company that included Tylenol, Motrin, and Benadryl.

I wonder when the FDA is going to start becoming a little more strict with these companies.  It seems like they have given these companies strict guidelines to follow and yet they don't seem to be following them completely.  I guess that's just the American way these days.  If you have a lot of money you can get away with murder unless someone has a video of you in the act.

Flight Attendant Arrested in Airline Bomb Hoax

http://news.travel.aol.com/2010/12/09/flight-attendant-arrested-in-airline-bomb-hoax/?icid=maing%7Cmain5%7C10%7Clink6%7C30262

Police in Hanoi arrested a Vietnam airlines flight attendant for allegedly sending a fake bomb threat through a text message to the head steward.  The flight was scheduled to fly to Cambodia and was cancelled forcing over one hundred people to be rescheduled to different flights.

This sounds like a major case of stupidity.  This person probably just thought, ha ha this will be funny, and in turn caused a lot of crap.  I wonder how much jail time this person will get for this prank.  Some people just need to learn the difference between funny and wrong.  I guess that maybe the courts will set an example with this case.

Confusion

Is it just me or does life seem to get a little more confusing every day?  There was a point in my early to mid twenties when I was excited about life and although trying at times things always seemed to work out.  Well that's not the way things seem to be anymore.  Maybe it's the loss of work, the child support, the fuel prices, Obama, and maybe the lack of a significant other.  I don't know about that last one.  I guess all I am trying to say is, can a guy just get a freakin break for once!

P.s.  If anybody reading this knows where a guy can get a good job let me know.

Unemployment benefits cut off for millions

Jobless benefits cut off for millions

As of today December 1, 2010 around 2 million people will begin to lose their unemployment benefits.  On Tuesday night congress failed to pass an extension for unemployment benefits which is causing millions to be cut off.

This is a scary situation.  The United States of America, the land of the free, the home of the brave, where people come to prosper?  I by no means am a person that believes in living off the system, but giving the state of the economy and the loss of millions of jobs what is a person t due to feed their families.  I know from experience, I lost my job in March of 2010 and like the people in this article I have sent out many resumes, filled out many applications, and been interviewed numerous times, all with no success.  So what is the answer?  The government starving people and creating more homeless?  I don't think that this is the right move.  Maybe they should think of more ways to create jobs and yes I am with these people in saying, Christmas is going to suck for my children this year.

Iran hangs soccer stars mistress

Iran hangs soccer stars mistress

At 5 am today in Iran a women, a mistress of the most famous soccer player to play in Iran was hanged. This women was claimed to have murdered this mans wife eight years ago and has been in prison since.  There has been speculation that during months of seclusion and interrogation that she was coursed into confessing to the murder.

I couldn't tell you if the women is guilty or not but I can say that for her to be hanged and for the husband to be let off scott free seem a little odd.  They say that the husband spent a little time in prison and that once they got a confession out of this women they let him go.  The ex is usually involved in cases like this and for him to be free seems suspicious.  I guess that this is the way things work in Iran and I am thankful to not be living under this type of government.
